Kansas City Circuit Race Overview

The race will begin at 2 p.m. at Crown Center, Grand Boulevard at Washington Square Park, just north of Pershing Road. The 10.2-mile circuit will pass Union Station, Liberty Memorial, the Westside, Barney Allis Plaza, City Market and Berkley Riverfront Park, before making its way back south on Grand past Sprint Center and the Power & Light District to Crown Center. Length: 72.3 miles (116.4 km)

Number of laps: Seven laps on a 10.2-mile circuit

Start: Crown Center, Grand Boulevard at Washington Square Park, just north of Pershing Road

Finish: Crown Center, Grand Boulevard at Washington Square Park, just north of Pershing Road

King of the Mountain: Two: Kessler Road in Penn Valley Park and Summit Street near 17th Street

Sprint Line: Grand Boulevard between 13th & 14th streets at Sprint Center and Power & Light District.

Kansas City Route Description:

The race will start Crown Center on Grand at Washington Square Park, just north of Pershing, then turns right on Main Street.

Union Station: Riders take a sharp left turn from Main onto Pershing Road to pass in front of Union Station.

Penn Valley Park/Liberty Memorial/Federal Reserve: Riders turn left on Kessler Road for a steep climb through Penn Valley Park to a King of the Mountain. Riders will pass the Liberty Memorial and Federal Reserve before turning right on 31st Street, then back north on Broadway Boulevard.

Westside/Summit Street: Riders will take a sharp left onto Southwest Boulevard, then right on West Pennway Street, before turning north to climb up Summit Street for the second King of the Mountain near 17th Street.

Convention Center/Barney Allis Plaza: Riders will wind their way through the Quality Hill neighborhood on 14th Street to Washington Street, before heading east on 12th Street past the Convention Center and Barney Allis Plaza to Main Street.

City Market: Riders will head north on Main, which becomes Delaware Street in the River Market neighborhood, then turn right on 3rd Street to pass on the north side of City Market.

Berkley Riverfront Park: A left turn on Grand will take riders through Berkley Riverfront Park for the only views of the Missouri River during the Kansas City circuit. The route will wind its way through the Columbus Park neighborhood, then head south on Charlotte Street, turning right at 9th Street.

Sprint Line: From 9th Street, riders will head south on Grand to the KC Live! block between 13th & 14th streets, which will become a Sprint Line for designated laps.

Finish Line: The race will end near Crown Center with the Finish Line on Grand at Washington Square Park, just north of Pershing.
